Yasin Malik Latest News: A Special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court on Wednesday will pronounce the quantum of punishment awarded to Kashmiri separatist leader Yasin Malik, who was convicted in a terror funding case a few days ago. On May 19, Special Judge Praveen Singh posted the matter for May 25 to hear the arguments regarding the quantum of punishment for the offences leveled against Malik. The court had directed the NIA authorities to assess his financial situation in connection with the terror funding case prior to Wednesday's hearing. He faces a maximum punishment of death penalty, while the minimum sentence can be life imprisonment in the cases in which he is involved. Mail on May 10 pleaded guilty to all charges, including those under the stringent Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). The Kashmiri separatist told the court that he was not contesting the charges levelled against him. Malik has been convicted in a terror funding case earlier this month. Malik faces a maximum punishment of the death penalty, while the minimum sentence for the Kashmiri separatist in the case is life imprisonment. A Special NIA Court in Delhi has convicted terrorist Yasin Malik after he pleaded guilty in the terror funding case. The court also sought an affidavit from the J&K separatist leader regarding his financial assessment and asked NIA to submit a report on the same. Special Judge Praveen Singh will hear the arguments regarding the quantum of sentence for the offences levelled against Malik. Earlier, the J&K separatist leader had pleaded guilty to charges under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). Malik was charged under Section 16 (terrorist act), 17 (raising funds for the terrorist act), 18 (conspiracy to commit terrorist act), and 20 (being member of terrorist gang or organisation) of the UAPA and sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy) and 124-A (sedition) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). He reportedly didn't objected to the charges before the court. दिल्ली की विशेष अदालत ने JKLF के अलगाववादी नेता यासीन मलिक को आतंकी फंडिंग के मामले में दोषी करार देते हुए उम्रकैद की सज़ा सुनाई है. अदालत ने यासीन को दो मामलों में उम्रकैद, 10 लाख रुपए जुर्माना और 10 मामलों में दस साल सजा सुनाई है। ये सभी सजाएं एक साथ चलेंगी। किसी तरह की अप्रिय घटना न होने पाए, इसके लिए तमाम सुरक्षा एजेंसियां कश्मीर घाटी में पैनी नजर बनाए हुए हैं। विशेष न्यायाधीश प्रवीण सिंह ने यासीन मलिक को 19 मई को गैरकानूनी गतिविधि रोकथाम अधिनियम (UAPA) के तहत तमाम आरोपों का दोषी ठहराया था। यासीन मलिक के केस की सुनवाई के चलते पटियाला हाउस कोर्ट के बाहर सुरक्षा व्यवस्था चाक-चौबंद है। इस फैसले के बाद दिल्ली-एनसीआर में सुरक्षा सख्त कर दी गई है। एजेंसियों ने आशंका जताई है कि आतंकवादी हमला कर सकते हैं। A special court in Delhi has sentenced JKLF separatist leader Yasin Malik to life imprisonment, finding him guilty in the terror funding case.
