Hi! I showed the procedural dungeon creation system I made I watched ToadNet's tutorials But I changed a lot of thing ToadNet's tutorial: 🤍 Music: LAKEY INSPIRED - Chill Day
Technical Writer Ian Shadden takes us through a project designed as a foundation for square tile, turn-based strategy games in Blueprints. We'll randomly generate a map, "dig" rooms and corridors between, and populate it with teams. It won't be a complete game, though should serve as a good starting point with it's covered topics such as map generation, non-rendered actors acting as data classes, 1D and 2D arrays, the awesome "random streams", and order of operations via GameMode.

In this video I talk about the methodology that I used to generate procedural rooms that are connected. Please subscribe if you enjoy the content! I am a new channel and could use all the help I can get, thanks!
Quick demonstration of a procedural level generation system that I've started building two days ago. Each room is its own level file, which allows for some niceties that otherwise wouldn't be possible, such as using baked lighting. It doesn't check for overlaps yet, but I'm pretty happy with the results so far! Next up: Adding checks for whether a new room would overlap existing ones. Music: "Still Nothing" by Nubbinownz
Create dynamically generated levels in under 15 minutes! This technique is super easy to expand upon and I personally feel is a nice mix between 'true' procedural and allowing your artists to have some more control. For this tutorial I've made a short demonstration using the cave pack by Luos which is available here: 🤍 If you like what we do hit me up on Twitter: 🤍HighlySpammable & 🤍PubGamesAU and let us know!
In this short video, I show the process of creating an underground level for the game Rekesh Gaal using procedural generation.

Run & Gun Prototype Tried to expand on the Endless Runner example given by EPIC. The corridor generates itself in a procedural manner, never are two runs the same. There are rules that apply to the placement of both the environment and the pickups. Everything is placeholder to allow enough time to experiment with environment, pickups, VFX and the ambient soundscape that randomly plays clanking metal sounds and engine hum in the background.Character is the first attempt to do root motion control on a playable character.

The engine is now set up to enable the basic maintenance of environment surrounding the player. The system is using placeholder hexagons measuring 100m on the inner radius. The video shows me manually moving the player character through the scene. Each time a sector is created it also creates seeds in the locations of neighbouring sectors. As these seeds collide with the green activation sphere they are converted into new sectors. Sectors falling outside of the activation sphere are converted into seeds and any seeds losing contact with the red culling sphere are deleted. The engine shows random seed values being generated for each seed and sector based on the main level seed and the coordinates of the seed or sector. Follow development at 🤍mechadroid.blog

This video shows the engine generating a random colour for each new sector using a dynamic material instance. The vector used to determine the base colour of each instance is randomly generated using the location seed value of each sector. This means that the colour of a sector is the same each time it is generated again at the same location. This demonstrates the deterministic approach to procedural level generation.
