Ruger LCP MAX 🤍 The Ruger LCP is the go-to pocket pistol for a lot of people. The only problem was that it had a relatively low capacity. Now Ruger has come out with the LCP max which boasts an impressive 10 rounds with just an incremental increase in size. But most of the pocket pistols are single stack guns. The new Ruger LCP MAX gives us 10+1 or 12+1 capacity in a tiny .380 you can comfortably carry. But we also talk about two defensive loads, one of which I'm currently carrying and do some ballistic testing. #380 #ballistics #Ruger

Ruger has built a reputation over the last decade for offering budget-friendly micro semi-autos, with the latest generation arriving last summer in the shape of the double-stack LCP Max. It’s basically a capacity upgrade of the previous single-stack LCP II, tacking on four more rounds for a total of 10+1 in the palm of your hand. Touted as lightweight, compact, and powerful (L-C-P, see what they did there?), I finally got the itch to try out these itsy-bitsy carry guns as summer rolled around. So, I snatched an LCP Max from the Guns.com Certified Used Vault and took it for a spin.
Back after almost 2 years the Ruger LCP MAX has proven itself to be a viable carry option. Check out the updated review and let me know if you think you might pick one up for yourself! The .380 ACP (Automatic Colt Pistol) cartridge typically fired by a Ruger LCP is less powerful than a 9mm cartridge fired by a Glock 26. The .380 ACP round has a smaller bullet and less powder behind it than a 9mm round, which generally results in lower muzzle energy and less stopping power. To give you some perspective, a typical .380 ACP cartridge fires a bullet with a weight of 90 to 100 grains at a muzzle velocity of around 900 feet per second, producing around 200 to 250 foot-pounds of energy. In comparison, a typical 9mm cartridge fires a bullet with a weight of 115 to 147 grains at a muzzle velocity of around 1,000 to 1,200 feet per second, producing around 300 to 500 foot-pounds of energy. That being said, the Ruger LCP and the Glock 26 are both popular concealed carry guns that are reliable and effective in their own right. The choice of which one to use will depend on a variety of factors, including personal preference, intended use, and individual circumstances. To give you a comparison of the energy produced by a .380 ACP cartridge that typically fires from a Ruger LCP, 250 foot-pounds of energy is roughly equivalent to: The energy required to lift a 250-pound weight one foot off the ground The force produced by a 1/2 horsepower motor running for one second The impact force of a 50-pound weight dropped from a height of 5 feet The force of a medium-sized dog (around 50 pounds) jumping onto you at a speed of 20 miles per hour Keep in mind that these are just rough comparisons and the effects of bullet energy can vary greatly depending on a number of factors, including the type of bullet, where it hits on the target, and the size and condition of the target.
