How to tie a tie - easy and quick, step by step. The Windsor (aka Double Windsor, Full Windsor) is a popular way of tying a necktie with a sharp, symmetrical, triangular knot. Thanks for watching. TRANSCRIPT Hi there, I’m going to show you one of the most popular ways to tie a tie – using the Windsor knot – also known as the Double Windsor or the Full Windsor. Start with your collar up and the tie around your neck. If you are right handed, hold the wide end of the tie in your right hand and the narrow end of the tie in your left hand. Now, it is important to remember that the longer you make the wide end, the lower the tie will hang when you are finished. Basically, you want to line up your tie like this. If you remember this, you will save yourself a lot of time later on. Now cross each end over – wide end over the top – and leave about this much on the narrow end. That is about four inches or ten centimetres. With your left hand, take the wide end of the tie. Thread it through the back of this opening from behind. Thread it all the way through, like this. Now take the wide end of the tie, and with your left hand, wrap it all the way around the back like this. Switch hands. Notice here how the back of the tie is facing outward. Taking the wide end, now, in your right hand, thread it through the front of this opening. Alright! The hardest part is now done; the rest is easy! What you can see here is the inside of your knot. It should look a bit like a triangle. Put your left index finger on the knot, like this, and keep it there. With your other hand, wrap the wide end around the knot, from right to left – and then grab it from behind. Keep your index finger where it is. With your right hand, push the wide end through this opening again – from the back. Alright, here comes the punch-line! Your index finger has created a little tunnel. What you need to do now is thread the tie down through the tunnel. The last step now is to adjust and tighten it – alternating between the long end and the short end of the tie – gradually pulling the knot up – shaping it as you go – until the tie is just how you want it to be – a sharp, symmetrical, triangular knot. From Windsor Castle to Windsor Great Park, Legoland to Eton College - there's loads to see! It's very easy day trip from London, either by train or bus. It's Queen Elizabeth's preferred weekend residence and can you blame her? It is also the home of St George's Chapel, where Harry and Meghan's wedding ceremony is taking place. - The River Thames The Thames flows through the whole of the Royal Borough. French Brothers offer some really good boat tours, as do Duck Tours and some smaller motorboat and rowing boat companies. The best view of Windsor Castle is from the river. - Legoland, Windsor This is where I got my first ever job! With its exciting rides, shows, and LEGO building workshops, this is a perfect destination for the kids. Be careful though, tickets are expensive if you don't book in advance! - Eton and Eton Collage Home to the iconic Tudor-era boarding school that has produced 19 of the UK's prime ministers. Two long straights, a bunch of tight corners and two DRS zones inevitably added up to some very tense racing around the new Las Vegas street circuit. All signs during practice and qualifying were that it would be a close fight between Red Bull and Ferrari - and so it proved. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc in the first phase of the race looked to be heading for victory - but then Ferrari kept Charles out on five-lap-old hard Pirellis when the two Red Bulls stopped under Safety Car conditions for new tyres. Charles gained track position - regained the lead - but the downside to that was worsening tyre degradation. Leclerc eventually finished a gallant P2 after a battle with Red Bull's Sergio Perez. For his part, Verstappen was obliged to overcome a five-second penalty for a first-lap skirmish with Leclerc and front wing damage after contact with Mercedes' George Russell. He went on to score a superb victory - the 53rd of his career and one that tied the record of Sebastian Vettel. Red Bull's 19th win of the year also enabled them to break a record set by Mercedes in 2016. Russell finished fourth on the road but, with a penalty due to the Max incident, was eventually classified P8 behind his team-mate, Lewis Hamilton. Alpine's Esteban Ocon and Aston Martin's Lance Stroll finished fourth and fifth - and sixth was Ferrari's Carlos Sainz, who would have started on the front row but for a penalty, effectively, for hitting a loose manhole cover in FP1. Fernando Alonso finished P9 after an erratic race in the other Aston and Oscar Piastri drove well to score the final point - and to take fastest lap - for McLaren-Mercedes. His team-mate, Lando Norris, was meanwhile lucky to survive a high-speed accident on the opening lap after his car bottomed-out on a full load of fuel with the tyres still below optimum operating temperature. The Red Bull-Honda RB19 was far from its best on Friday - and nor did it seem massively better in FP3, on Saturday afternoon in Abu Dhabi. Come qualifying, though, and it was the dream of a racing car it's been for virtually all of the year. Max Verstappen took the pole on his first quick run in Q3 - and emphasised it with a slightly slower lap in phase two. Charles Leclerc and Ferrari recovered from a worrying FP3 to qualifying second; and third, for McLaren-Mercedes, was the young Australian rookie, Oscar Piastri, out-qualifying his team-mate, Lando Norris, in the closing seconds of Q3. Max Verstappen put his signature to the 2023 season by winning the finale at Abu Dhabi with consummate ease. It was his 19th win of the season and Red Bull-Honda's 21st win from 22 starts. Although Ferrari's Charles Leclerc raced Max hard over the opening lap and finished a clear second, it wasn't enough to clinch P2 in the Constructors' Championship for Maranello. Mercedes secured the runner-up position (and the additional $10m in prize money) by the margin of three points thanks to the P3 of George Russell and the P9 of Lewis Hamilton while Ferrari, the only team other than Red Bull to win in 2023, have the consolation of a little extra wind tunnel test time going into the winter. Sergio Perez was classified P4 in the other Red Bull (after a 5sec penalty had been imposed); McLaren-Mercedes finished P5-P6, ahead of Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso and a hard-charging Yuki Tsunoda (Alpha Touri-Honda); Lewis was a disconsolate P9 and Lance Stroll scored the remaining point in the other Aston. With the front row starting position of Charles Leclerc evaporating on the formation lap with a catastrophic hydraulic failure on his Ferrari, affecting both the car's steering and transmission, Red Bull's Max Verstappen was gifted an easy run down down to Interlagos' first corner from the pole. He went on to win - despite having to do it all again in a second start (enforced by the a mid-field skirmish into Turn One) and a race-long challenge from McLaren's Lando Norris. There were effectively two parts to the Mexican GP - and Red Bull's Max Verstappen won them both. From P3 on the grid, he led out of the first corner - and he was still ahead when the race was red-flagged at half distance (when Kevin Magnussen hit the barrier after a suspension failure on his Haas-Ferrari). Now on the pole for the re-start, Max again led again through to the chequered flag, thereby scoring a record-breaking 16th race win of the season. Ferrari looked strong at Monza - so strong that they were on the pole with Carlos Sainz and P3 with Charles Leclerc. They did their homework. They ran - impressively so - on full fuel loads on both Friday and Saturday. They were quick in a straight line. Their DRS was super-effective. And, for 14 laps, Sainz indeed led the Italian GP in front of a jubilant capacity crowd. With DRS allowing Red Bull's Max Verstappen to capitalise on his car's great aero efficiency, however, Sainz in that opening phase was obliged to push his Ferrari harder than he wished. Remorselessly, his rear Pirellis began to lose grip. Verstappen did not hesitate. On lap 15, at the second chicane, he dived down the inside of the Ferrari to take a lead he would convert into a dominant win. His 12th of the year. His tenth in succession. A new record had been set. Sergio Perez eventually made it a one-two for Red Bull; Ferrari had their best finish of the season (three-four); Mercedes finished five-six; and Williams' Alex Albon headed the other customer Mercedes teams. McLaren's Lando Norris started from a well-earned pole - but it was Red Bull's Max Verstappen who led into the Senna Esses and thus into yet another win; Max, indeed, now goes into Sunday's Brazilian GP with the staggering total of 499 points earned thus far in 2023. Lando finished second, having pushed Max hard through the middle phase of the race; and Sergio Perez underlined Red Bull's pace and consistency with P3. With all cars required at the last minute to make at least three pit stops in the Qatar GP (due to potential problems caused by the circuit kerbs), it seemed as though McLaren-Mercedes, and maybe the factory Mercedes, would suddenly be closer to Red Bull; certainly, in this regime, there was less scope for Red Bull's trademark tyre management. In response, Max Verstappen and his team saved their one new set of Medium Pirellis for their last stint...just in case. And it worked - not that Max needed to worry about the Mercedes: Lewis Hamilton left the track at the first corner and George Russell, as a result of his collision with Lewis, was obliged to make an early pit stop for new tyres. When Max emerged from his last stop, though, he was but 3.7sec ahead of Oscar Piastri's McLaren. On the new tyres, head down, he then set fastest lap and extended the gap to win by nearly five seconds. Oscar and Lando Norris finished second and third, George Russell recovered brilliantly to finish fourth; and Ferrari's Charles Leclerc was a distant fifth after his team-mate, Carlos Sainz, non-started due to a fuel system issue. In all, eighteen of the 20 drivers on Sunday incurred one or more track limit infringement - with some (Lance Stroll, Pierre Gasly, Alex Albon and Sergio Perez) receiving time penalties for multiple offences. Lewis never completed a lap - which left only one other driver blemish-free - the 2023 F1 World Champion, Max Verstappen. In the long-awaited lull before the second free practice on the 2023 Las Vegas street circuit, Peter Windsor assesses the man-hole dramas of FP1 and the factors surrounding this event. Red Bull's Max Verstappen has been outspoken in his views - and Mercedes' Toto Wolff has dismissed the track issues as something that will be forgotten by the weekend. The Singapore GP suddenly seems an age away, for Red Bull and Max Verstappen not only dominated the Japanese GP but also clinched the 2023 FIA Constructors' World Championship at Suzuka with a walkaway win. Starting from the pole, Max led from the first corner and also went on to set a fastest race lap over a second quicker than any recorded by his opposition.
