(also known as Thundercloud Acropolis) S-Rank Time: 5 minutes 40 seconds This stage is like...Desert Ruins with a vengeance. Except that since this is in Sky Road, it also has to be up in the air. (Well, most of this game is up in the air anyway, so it all works out.) Set in a cumulonimbus cloud, Sky Road Zome 4 has Sonic making his way up and down some ruins made of sandstone bricks and sand. It alternates between 2-D climbs and falls and 3-D slides of sand. Both are pretty tricky, this stage being the last normal stage in the game before the final boss. (Lava Mountain Zone 3 has some normal platforming too, but it is essentially a boss rush.) It also has an...interesting techno samba playing. Pretty early on, you'll also encounter those ghosts Sonic first saw in Sonic Adventure 2 (though Knuckles mainly saw them in Pumpkin Hill), making this the designated haunted stage too. Just like how you'll occasionally find ghost houses in Mario games in the most random places wherever Mario goes. These guys just float horizontally across the screen minding their own businessthey just happen to be really in Sonic's way. Particularly bothersome is the bunch highest up in the first section, who is directly taking up the entire pathway to the next section. The last part of this stage will also bring in some huge ghosts too, though those aren't much of an obstacle due to the wider layout there. The second and fourth parts of this stage are about sliding down some chutes of sand, and those cacti from Desert Ruins Zone 1 are back. Also with a vengeance. There was a glitch one time I played this stage regarding the last group of cacti: You cannot dodge them. Instead, Sonic is supposed to be traveling fast enough to leave the area via the row of springs before they catch up to him. For some reason, Sonic was moving too slow to dodge them, he missed the springs, and he lost a life there. The last part is definitely the toughest area of this stage, especially those collapsing sand structures you must reach by the moving trampolines. I will tell you that it's not worth it to go for the animal capsules. It's also extremely difficult to successfully chase the bell around these structures when you hunt for Red Star Rings. The boss of this stage is Zavok, of course. This is one of the hardest bosses to figure out, especially the final blow. Zavok already has a bunch of quick fighting game type moves (including his own version of the Hadoken), and at least in this battle, has infinite HP. If you ever played to the end of New Super Mario Bros. 2, you'll know the deal: To defeat Zavok, you must knock him off the robot dragon. Sometimes, after he attacks, Zavok will start blocking with his arms. Sonic must then kick him to confuse him, which leaves him open for attack. 3 hits causes him to retreat up the dragon, stomping away parts of it and causing lasers to fire from it. As the lasers fire, Zavok will try to block again. If Sonic kicks him and hits him 3 times, he will move further up the dragon, to the head, where the last portion of this boss fight takes place. For the first and only time in this game, the charged Homing Attack is required. You may have noticed it and figured it out in several of my previous Sonic Lost World videos, but Sonic can now make multiple hits and target multiple enemies with one Homing Attack. To do so, simply let the Homing Attack reticule lock on to a target and continue facing that target as the reticule repeatedly locks on. It'll do it up to the maximum number of hits dictated by that moment in the game. To knock Zavok off the dragon, let the Homing Attack reticule lock on seven times onto Zavok to push him to the edge. Then, have Sonic land, let the reticule lock on seven more times, and use a Homing Attack (not a kickhe'll block that) to shove him off. ANy less than that, or using a kick, will allow Zavok to recover and keep fighting. You'll see that Zavok uses similar techniques to fight Sonic with in Lava Mountain Zone 3, but he has limited HP. I suppose once he knew he had limitations, he was no longer invulnerable. Also, you might notice that in contrast to the other Deadly Six members' taunts and bizarre comments, Zavok is deathly serious in all of his threats. Still, the over-the-top way he says them makes him just as much of a ham as the others. Requested by Justin Kendrick

S-Rank Time: 2 minutes 20 seconds You will not reach this stage's S-Rank time limit without a plan for this stage, and when you do figure it out, executing it is no walk in the park. Whereas Desert Ruins Zone 3 was a lot of running with few obstacles, Sky Road Zone 2 is practically made of obstacles. Add to that a rather drawn out boss battle, and this can really make you sweat. As you quickly find out, there is not a lot of solid ground in this stage. Instead, Sonic is making his way around a fleet of robots themed on Asian lungs (popularly known as Chinese dragons, not breathing organs of people in Asia). Unlike most other enemies, Sonic does not take damage upon contact with them and are in fact most of the platforms in this stage. Considering they're always moving and trying to attack Sonic, you can guess that this stage is a handful. Short, but a handful. In order to reach that 2 minutes 20 seconds asked of you on the upper-left, you have to find ways to outrun and outmaneuver the dragons. For instance, a dragon normally comes down from the top of the screen at about 23 seconds on the timer. You're supposed to have Sonic hop onto that dragon, which will then take him over to the platform with the four dragons coming up from underneath. If you know those four dragons are coming, and that Sonic can safely walk across their mouths, you can skip that swooping dragon and use these four as they rise upthough Sonic still needs to retreat to the platform above if you don't want him to get fried. The area between the first and second checkpoints involves the dragons using their lasers rather than the rather slow direct hits. You won't make the time limit standing still, waiting out the attacks. You have to go so fast that the dragons' lasers can't reach Sonic, or if they can, just take the hit and use the temporary platformer-character invincibility to barge on ahead. (There is actually a way to go through this at top speed without taking any damage, but I'm not good enough for that.) The boss fight is against the main man Zavok. Havking hijacked one of those dragon robots, Sonic needs to chase it around and Homing Attack the glowing ball on its tail to bring down a ramp allowing Sonic to climb on board. Once there, Sonic must then do 6 Homing Attacks on each of the dragon's sections, then land because the 7th one will fire the laser. After that, it's just a series of Homing Attacks to reach Zavok. Once this is done one more time, and Zavok takes a second hit, Zavok will retreat, ending the stage. As you may have figured, a boss battle involving a chase and a subsequent long Homing Attack chain is time-consuming, so just because you're well under 1 minute 15 seconds going into this boss battle doesn't mean you'll make it out with an S-Rank. The song for this stage is called "Dragon Dance," by the way. Those of you familiar with Pokémon (and I'm guessing a lot of you are) would probably recognize that phrase as that move that raises Attack and Speed. It would've been cool if using that move turns the background music into that of this stage. Requested by TheBlueTyphoon17

S-Rank Time: 3 minutes Now, those of you familiar with this stage might wonder if a stage like this could even have an S-Rank time limit. It is an auto-scrolling stage like with Desert Ruins Zones 2 and 4, only without a duel against a Deadly Six member at the end. This is the first stage in the game, however, to break the pattern of Zones 2 and 4 containing bosses while 1 and 3 do not, for there IS a boss at the end. Just not a conventional one. (Did you notice this shares a background with Sky Road Zone ??) Those of you who've seen Tropical Coast Zone ? will find this all too familiar. Sonic starts off at a gust-worn cliffside and rides an updraft to the end. While there are fewer obstacles in Sky Road Zone 3 compared to Tropical Coast Zone ?, Sky Road Zone 3 is much longer. That's bad for me because I make mistakes pretty often, and a longer stage means more chances for me to screw up. More so because the obstacles here tend to move about whereas Tropical Coast Zone ? had a lot of floors and ceilings. The Deadly Six apparntly have no qualms about annihilating parts of their own planet to get rid of Sonic, as you'll soon see not just Turtloids and armies of Egg Pawns deployed everywhere, but missiles traveling up and down. At the end of this armada is a huge blowfish-like enemy, only turquoise instead of the purple one seen in Tropical Coast Zone ?. This time, however, it doesn't hover harmlessly over Sonic, but will try to get rid of him by shooting missiles (different from the rocket-like ones seen earlier). All you have to do is bring Sonic down and land on one of them to bounce the missile back at the blowfish robot. Three times will cause it to break down, allowing Sonic to pass harmlessly through it and clear the stage. As you can see, I had plenty of time left. As long as you know how to get rid of the blowfish thing at the end, you will S-Rank this stage. The harder part is making it to the end on one life. And this wraps up Sky Road! Thank you for watching. Requested by FerociousLinoone

Played and recorded by: NTom64 - - - This level has the potential to be amazing. Everything AFTER the rocket section is pretty fun, so who the fuck thought it was a good idea to make most of the beginning of the level a bottomless pit? Actually, let me rephrase that. The level's called Sky Road, I expect there to be a lot of bottomless pits (especially in a game made by Dimps), but tying Sonic to a rocket which can be destroyed in one hit means you essentially have to no-hit run those sections, and considering you're at the mercy of motion controls (which are nowhere near as fluid as they might appear here), it's a pretty merciless bit of game design. Still, that music eh? Good stuff.

Played and recorded by: NTom64 - - - Ohhhh boy, it's this zone. During my blind run of the game (which you can find over the HellfireComms channel), it took my well over 30 minutes and a few game overs to complete this stage. I just couldn't judge depth at all and I kept careening into the bottomless pits because, contrary to what you see here, Asteroid doesn't really handle all that well in a 3D space. That fade at the end wasn't to cover up a death, by the way. It just took me a while to get onto that cloud so I thought I'd cut it out. Only about 40 seconds or so but it was boring to watch.
